They then merged the two names together and called their company Altec Lansing. In 1941, Altec Services bought Lansing Manufacturing Company. The company was founded in 1927 as Altec Services Company and started off producing loudspeakers. Altec Lansing produces a variety of audio equipment, including speakers, headphones, pro audio devices, and accessories.
